Motorcycle driving license rules in the Philippines for foreign tourists (2023)

Rent motorcycle in the Philippines

Book2wheel is a motorcycle and car-sharing service in the Philippines, we have been in the motorcycle and rental business in the Philippines for the last 7 years, please listen to our advice carefully because we know what we are saying from our experience.

A most common question which has been asked to us

I have an American driving license for a car, but I do not have a motorcycle driving license can I rent a 125cc scooter in the Philippines?

The answer to this question is in one word NO! you can not rent or drive 125cc or even 110cc scooters in the Philippines on your car driving license.

Most of our customers tell us I have been driving a motorcycle for the last 5 years in Asia and no one ever stopped me. Our answer to these customers is that, if you get into an accident and you do not have a motorcycle driving license you will be in Jail for a long time. So please do not take risks. Just get a motorcycle driving license before you fly abroad

For European customers please read this as well

You must have A1 for small scooters and for big motorcycles A driving license to rent a motorcycle in the Philippines, Indonesia, or any other Asian country. Am good for a 50cc scooter if you can find that, then it is perfect. But most scooters are above 70cc in the Philippines. So please get a license before you rent a motorcycle.

Your foreign driving license is valid for up to 90 days but makes sure to bring your international driving license with you. That helps if you are in a problem since it has translations.

Please do not rent a motorcycle, if you do not have a motorcycle driving license, you can rent a car instead. Book2wheel also now offer car. The car rental starts from 12 to 15 Euro. You can rent a car at a very low price. Invite your friends to join you on the trips and share the cost of rental and fuel.

Book2wheel offers now service in Bali Indonesia and Vietnam as well.
