Sinulog Festival – should the future queen of Cebu ride a motorbike?

In Book2wheel, we combined the traditions of Cebu’s famous Sinulog Festival with a bit of modern design – wouldn’t it be fun if in the future the queens of Cebu could quickly ride home on their motorbikes? As you can see, riding a motorbike is always the easiest and fastest way of transport that allows you to escape the traffic – even if you’re a queen!

Sinulog festival is one of the biggest and most famous festivals in the Philippines, where people from all over the country come together and enjoy the parade. It is closely connected to the Catholic religion as it is a celebration of Santo Niño. The festival is also famous for its street parties.

The Sinulog festival is extremely vibrant and colorful, full of detailed designs with a royal vibe. Its atmosphere became a huge inspiration to us – that’s how we created our own posters to honour the traditions.

On the previous years’ parades we saw multiple decorated cars and trucks – that’s how we came up with another idea. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could ride around on beautifully decorated motorbikes which the queens of Cebu can easily hop on?

The team working on our Sinulog campaign consists of Book2wheel‘s international interns: Maria, Mariagiulia, Raphael and Krystyna.

Thanks to working on the project, we learned a lot about the culture and traditions of filipino people. We came to appreciate it a lot – everyone involved in the festival puts in a lot of effort, but also has a lot of fun.

We wish we could also participate in Sinulog Festival in the future!
