There are a lot of famous islands and cities that tourists and locals usually visit in the Philippines like Manila, Palawan, Cebu, Davao, Siargao, Camotes Island, Boracay, and etc. However, Bacolod, The City of Smiles, is one of Book2wheel’s top places to visit in the Philippines if you want to relax, and enjoy a simple vacation.

I was very impressed by how simple life is in Bacolod, and I wish our the trip there never ended. 🙂 You might be surprised, but this place has everything!

You want to go trekking, enjoy spring, or waterfalls and mountains? Try Jomax Peak. There is a Ceres bus bound to Don Salvador at Bacolod Bus South Terminal, which is just 20 – 30 minutes away from Silay City. Note though that you will need to pay a reservation fee of 2500 pesos in advance as they do not accept walk-ins. You may bring food and eat there. By the way, coffee is unlimited.;

At Lakawon

Perhaps you prefer to enjoy a serene place and beach? Try Lakawon which is just an hour and 30 minutes away if you ride a bus from Bacolod North Bus Terminal to Cadiz City. Just be ready to pay the following: 300 pesos for boat transfers, and terminal and entrance fees, and 50 pesos for corkage (per head). You may reserve a bamboo hut or rooms in advance.
